Registration is free, open to anyone anywhere, and takes about a minute. Banana Hacks runs October 9 to 12, 2026, entirely online.

How it works

  1. Register

    Fill in the registration form: name, email, and a couple of questions about what you want to build. Takes about a minute.

  2. Join the Discord

    The invite arrives by email. Discord is where team formation, mentor support, and announcements all happen.

  3. Show up Friday night

    The opening ceremony and theme reveal are at 8:00 PM EDT on Friday, October 9. Team formation follows straight after.

Before you sign up

  • Open to everyone, everywhere, with no age limit and no country restriction
  • Built for students and first-timers; professionals and hobbyists welcome too
  • Teams of 1 to 4 people
  • Under 18? Read the Code of Conduct with a parent or guardian
  • Must submit by Oct 11, 2026 at 11:59 PM AoE
